Our chance to say “Velkommen” to Arendal for those who arrive early… and sneak in a hug and a cheers before the big day!

GETTING THERE

📍 Hill Marina, Rådhusgaten 18, 4836 Arendal (map link)

This is a 500-metre walk from the centre of Arendal, along the water front past the old Tyholmen neighbourhood and through the marina.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A couple of drinks in the sunshine. We will have some light snacks but recommend that you head out into town for dinner afterwards (see our recommendations under LOCAL RECS).

This is it! Ceremony in the garden, followed by dinner and dancing.

GETTING THERE

Pick-up by ferry at 3:30pm / 4:10pm:

The wedding venue is a 15-min ferry ride from Arendal. The ferry will take two trips from Arendal to the wedding venue, please see your allocation below.

There is limited space on the ferry so please take the ferry you have been allocated to :) Ferry leaders will be assigned and available for questions. The ferries will leave on time!

WHAT TO EXPECT

The afternoon begins outdoors in the garden, where our ceremony will take place (weather-permitting) under the horse chestnut trees.

We will later move indoors for dinner, festivities and a night of dancing.

AT THE END OF THE NIGHT

Kokkeplassen is a 10-min drive back to Arendal. We have arranged taxis back to the town centre at the end of the night, leaving at 11pm, 11:30pm, and then ongoing from midnight-2am.

If you would like to make your own way back to your hotel/Airbnb, you can call 07000 or download the 07000 app for a taxi directly. (This is the Arendal equivalent of Uber.)

If you would prefer to drive yourselves to the venue, there is parking available on-site. If you are making your own way to the wedding, you can find us at the following address - please be there by 4:30pm:

GETTING THERE

📍 Moringen Pub, Noroddveien 4, 4816 Kolbjørnsvik (map link)

Our recommendation is to come by ferry, on the Kolbjørn III, as this leaves from just outside the Clarion Hotel and arrives right in front of Moringen. This is a 5-min trip.

Ferry departure: the Kolbjørn III leaves from Arendal Tyholmen ferjekai (this is a different location from the pick-up on the Sunday, which is 200m away - map link) There are two ferries leaving from the same spot - make sure you get on Kolbjørn III and not Tromøy II!

Destination: the ferry may make several stops. Make sure you are getting off at Kolbjørnsvik (see photo at the top of this page!).

Route timings:

  • from Arendal to Kolbjørnsvik: 11:15, 11:35, 11:55, 12:15, 12:35, 12:55, 13:15, 13:35, 13:55, 14:15, 14:35, 14:55…

  • from Kolbjørnsvik to Arendal: 11:50, 12:10, 12:30, 12:50, 13:10, 13:30, 13:50, 14:10, 14:30, 14:50, 15:10, 15:30…

Tickets: If you say to the captain that you are going to see Alf and Sophie, they will let you on for free ;)

WHAT TO EXPECT

Welcome to our local neighbourhood pub! Opening especially for us (its usual opening hours are 7pm-late Fridays - and that’s it) for coffee, pastries, and pétanque.

You can come and go whenever is convenient for you.
